Dhanesh de Kok

Born and raised on the Southern Caribbean island ” Curacao”, Dhanesh is no stranger to Island life and it’s challenges.

At the age of 17, he traded the beautiful colors of the Caribbean in for the fast moving lifestyle of The Netherlands. During the upcoming eight years he studied and worked in several renowned establishments as Restaurant-Hotel “de Beukenhof”, Woods and Restaurant Niven.

During this period he traveled through Europe to understand a little more about the original flavors of Italy, France, Spain and the Czech Republic. 

In 2013 a great new opportunity came around back home in Curacao that he couldn’t resist. A Junior Sous-Chef position in the Prestige Avila Beach Hotel. During the period of 3 years he grew into hotel Sous-Chef with 23 kitchen F.T.E working in three restaurants and banquet rooms. 

 “ My favorite projects during my period at the Avila Beach hotel was working on the restaurant re-branding after new ownership and of course cooking for the Royal house of The Netherlands.”

In 2016 he got the opportunity to become the opening chef of the brand new Courtyard by Marriott in Bonaire. During the upcoming 15 months he worked with his team (10 F.T.E) on brand training, conference and banqueting and kitchen financials.

At the beginning of 2018 it was time for something new. A project that’s been on his mind for years. Starting his own company to provide hospitality organisations with training and culinary support under the name “Culivise” . During the first period he also supported a catering company and after seeing that there was allot of opportunity he decided to start his own Private Chef service, Catering Bonaire.

Now a year later, Dhanesh is working daily with new idea’s, trends and technology to fine-tune the personal touch Catering Bonaire offers it’s guest every Catering experience.
